In the middle of all busy days, taking some time out and enjoy oneself should be a kind of precious joy. The weekend before the last one, I drove to Shaoxing, accompanied by both my Dad and my father-in-law, and my twins, of course. To be exact, I took them there sightseeing especially.
Shaoxing is the name of a county and a city as well. Numerous people know it so well because of its solid place in the Chinese literary history. The Birthplace of Luxun was our first stop that day. We too pictures with his Statue, we read his stories one by one, we also appreciated a kind of special drama in the countryside of Shaoxing, which is called XIANGCUN SHEXI. It became my fondest memory of this trip.
Shaoxing smelly tofu is something you can’t miss while you are there. Whithin Mr. Lu’s place, there is such a shop selling it. And the line waiting to taste it never seemed to be shorter. I have brought back some pics for future revision. The beans in the basin is the famous HUIXIANG bean in Kong Yiji.
Later we went to the place of Premier Zhou Enlai’s grandparents. There we saw a lot of pics of Mr. Zhou and the grandma-looking Deng Yingchao. For a time, I thought I could feel the deep love between them and thus was so touched. Those pics are also a witness of China’s revolution and great changes ever since. They also remind one that life can be so quick and so short. We have every reason to be happy and forgiving.

And you can't overlook another genius' work:
Besides the two places, we had a typical Shaoxing dinner. We tried some Shaoxing speciaties, which I don't think they live up to their reputations. Whereas, it’s worth trying before you know it.
We had walked to the City Square before we ended our trip. The kids got their loved toys and I bought a pair of shoes for each of the two old men. Finally I should thank God for the fair weather it bestowed us on that day.
