Dr. Montessori's theory on early education

Today I have an interview in the Child Acadamy which is an international kindergarten lies in Germany Centre. The foreign headmaster and Ellen are very kind and we talked about half an hour. We talked in English and suddenly I found that my spoken English is not forgotten to the zero. What I need is an enviorment of english speaking.

Due to the interview, yesterday make some preparations and  read the Montessori's theory about early education. I found that there's some misunderstanding on Montessori's early education theory.

For example, In the chinese translation version, the traditional theory thought that early education will destroy the children's nature and disturb the children's development process. But in the Montessori's theory, she just want to express that each individual is different and should not be disturbed by others, the children should develop their abilities and skills at their own pace. She also wrote that early education should be given in a naturally and joyfully way. That is to say early education must respect the individual's interests, needs and basic skills. But in many Chinese traditional books, many educators and theorists emphasized that children should not be given early education before the age of 6. It's obviosly that the Montessoryi's theory are misunderstood by them. So many parents are puzzled and don't know what to choose. Then they will insist on the traditional theory and never teach their child at the age of 0-3. In fact, they passed the best periods of their child's development. The child can learn a lot if they are taught in a natural way.

     

  因为要去一个国际幼儿园面试,几年未开口说英语的我必须要稍微准备一下。因为带孩子,读过中国人翻译过来的蒙台梭利的理论,也一直比较懒惰没有找来英文原著读读。昨天为了寻找到有关幼儿园教育方面的英语单词,我在网上读了一下蒙台梭利的部分英文理论。读后才发现,其实很多国内的书籍把蒙氏的理论误解了,很多国内的育儿专家说孩子不宜早教,一般是6岁前不要早教,早教相当于拔苗助长,破坏孩子的自然生长过程。但事实上,在蒙氏的理论中,并不反对早教,而是强调尊重每个个体的差异性,每个孩子都应该按着他自己的技能水平,知识程度和兴趣特点等等自主地去选择适合他自己的工具,学习内容和学习方法。蒙台梭利的确说过,我们不能去过早地培养天才,但是并不能表明她的意思是否认早教,而恰恰相反她主张早教是在孩子的自然和愉快状态下进行的。

      正如我前面有一篇关于育儿书籍的文章所说,父母们不能完全听信任何一种理论,而必须着眼于你家孩子的现实,做一个合格的观察者和提供帮助者,观察孩子的敏感期,兴趣和真正需求,然后在征求孩子意见后提供相应的帮助。只要孩子是非常开心非常自愿地学习,难道你还真因为专家的理论而坚持等到她6岁后才开始教她识字吗?
